Cookie policy
Every cookie we set, what it does, and how to turn the optional ones off.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your device; we also use comparable browser storage (such as localStorage) for the same purposes. Some are strictly necessary — the platform cannot work without them, and under PECR these do not need consent. We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The only storage that isn’t strictly necessary is anvul_visit and anvul_attr, which we use only to count visits and improve anvul.co.uk. They last only until you close the tab, aren’t linked to who you are, aren’t used for advertising and aren’t shared with an advertiser, and you can switch them off at any time (see “Managing your choices”). If you arrive from one of our videos or adverts, the link you clicked tells us which one; if you then sign up, we keep that campaign’s name — or the site that sent you (name and page only) and the page you first landed on — with your account so we know which of our marketing works. anvul_attr is also written when you land straight on our sign-up page. We never keep an advertising platform’s click reference.

When you pay by card, Stripe may set its own cookies on its payment form to prevent fraud; Stripe’s own policy governs them. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics, on anvul.co.uk or in the Anvul app, and we do not sell data gathered through cookies or browser storage.
Managing your choices
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. Blocking anvul_visit and anvul_attr changes nothing about how anvul.co.uk works. To switch the measurement off, use “Turn off measurement” at the foot of anvul.co.uk, visit anvul.co.uk/?stats=off once (we then keep a small anvul_stats_off flag so it stays off; anvul.co.uk/?stats=on turns it back on), or turn on your browser’s Global Privacy Control setting; or email privacy@anvul.co.uk.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the platform from working — you will not be able to sign in or save progress.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change, we will update the effective date above, and if we ever want to set an optional one we will ask you first.
